Marsicano Rodrigues is a Brazilian musician, citarista, writer who after an education in Sao Paulo questioned himself on the foreign philosophies, on the different way of thinking human being. For this reason he left his country many times, learnt numerous languages (Chinese, Latin, English, Greek.) obtaining a diploma in philosophy. His musical career also started in consequence of his travels. He met Ravi Shankar in London and had lessons with him. He also studied with Krishna Chakavarty, professor of the University of Benares. After his revelation for India music he decided to go back to his native country, starting a professional career as musician and teacher. With devotion and passion he divulges his knowledges in India music in several places, sometimes playing with others musicians. He recorded his album of poetries called "galaxies" with Arnaldo Antunes. He progressively conquered the attention and respect of many Brazilian musicians and the faithful of a public interested in India classical music. In parallel to his musical career he has written many books on legendary personalities (William Blake.) and articles on several countries as Japan, India. During the 90's until today he experimented the world of electronic rock music to the traditional Brazilian music and eastern influences. The album "electric sitar" and his "electric sitar experience" introduce him in the universe of progressive music, playing rock "covers" and original compositions for sitar with electronic treatments.Philippe Blache
