If only for a second we could conceive music as a nation, the name “Pommez Internacional” would overflow with meaning, because this is what this band’s way of making music is all about, transcending all limits and frontiers: a formation that can be, at the same time, a multimedia experience and an intense live act. They have released two albus: “Tríptico I Hebras” (2008, Sadness Discos), a physical edition that compiles different recordings originally made for the Web, and “Contraluz Contrataque” (2010, Sadness Discos). Musicians, producers and performers. Located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. With production and sound engineering by Juan Stewart, this last work is, for the moment, the most representative of the aesthetic exploration of the band; and, at the same time, the first oeuvre conceived as such. The video clip for the song "Weberwiese!" was filmed on the Spring of 2010: http://vimeo.com/17136643 “Contraluz Contrataque” and the live performances that followed were received, by both audiences and critics, with great accl.. “Pommez Internacional is one of those honorable exceptions that still believe there is a place to travel through less explored paths”. Leandro Aguirre (Inrockuptibles) “Pommez Internacional combines rock energy and distortion with electronic pulses achieving a record of a hi-fi sound quality”. Diego Valente (Vuenos Airez) “Contraluz Contraataque is the soundtrack of a movie yet to be made, its songs are out of focus still frames of a story they have told us”. Ariel Pukacz (Rocktails) “Tense and unsettling” (Clarin) Pommez Internacional becomes elusive through their actions and achievements: In the year 2009 they were the winners of the “Ahora!” festival and played all around Argentina, Berlin, Köln, Madrid, Barcelona, Montevideo and Brazil. Back home they took part in the organization of the multidisciplinary event “70 segundos antes del Knock Out”. With Pommez Internacional as a resident performer, this event involved filmmakers, musicians and plastic artists. The performances were a success, and the event continues to grow, shifting its setting from “Castorera”, to “Niceto Club”, and finally to “Salon Real”. The event is considered by the specialized press as “a creative Knock Out”. In 2011, Pommez Internacional wrote and recorded the Sound Track for the movie “La carrera del animal” (“Animal’s run”), Nicolás Grosso’s first film, premiered in the 2011 BAFICI (Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema), where it won the award for best argentine film. Pommez Internacional performed live at the festival. The band followed the premier with the digital edition of the Sound Track, free to download, an extensively electronic and purely instrumental record; a cross between Enio Morricone and Popol Vuh; epic and mysterious, someone described it as an “electronic western”, and it’s not so far from the truth. “The group Pommez Internacional contribute a spare score stuffed with an itchy nervousness.” Robert Koehler (Variety) Musicians, producers and performers. Located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In mid-2011, Pommez Internacional released on the Web the single “Rosario de la Frontera”, which includes two compositions: “Rosario de la Frontera” and “La celebracion”. With these recordings, the group continues its journey forward towards originality and uniqueness, while incorporating a more structured form of songwriting and an explicit pop sensitivity. “This is music inside music in a song with de auteur architecture” (amodescubrircanciones.blogspot.com) On september 2011, Pommez Internacional will be performing at “Trimarchi”, the most relevant graphic design and visual arts festival in South America, as part of the debut of the record “Los ellos”, a tribute album to (and inspired by) German Oesterheld’s grahic novel “El eternauta”, to which Pommez Internacional contributed a song.
